On Saturday, I attended my third Carolina Cup in Camden, South Carolina. It was a perfect day filled with a little rain, a lot of sun & lots of complimentary koozies! I came home with 3 new koozies to add to my collection, as well as a Vineyard Vines magnet and a sweet whale hat!
Jake and I left for Charlotte on Friday around 3:00 to grab some things from his house and visit his family. We were also able to have dinner at P.F. Chang's, which was especially delicious! Even though it was a quick visit, it was so nice to spend some time with them. Around 7:45, we were back on the road, headed to the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Columbia.
We arrived at the hotel around 11pm and after freshening up, found the rest of our group at the rooftop bar. Who knew the Sheraton would be such a happening place?! They had a nice bar area and a band playing until a little after midnight. We had a great time without even leaving the hotel!
On Saturday morning, I got up for the first shower at 6AM, yes six o'clock in the morning! It was all worth it to know that Cup was just a few hours away. My group had to be ready by 7:45am, in order to be on the first trip to Camden (about a 30-minute ride). Jake and I snapped a few pictures before we left and then we were on our way!
Because of the rain, I decided to forego wearing my hat. I plan on using it for Easter though!
We arrived at the racetrack about 8:30 and there was NO ONE there! It was also super cloudy and raining! Boo! Thank goodness this changed throughout the day. On a good note, since we were so early, we got the first pick of all the free stuff! Jake and I ended up with these too-cute whale hats!

They had these beautiful Lilly cookies along with pink lemonade and marshmallows!
The sun made its first appearance around 10am and it was perfect weather the rest of the day!

You both looked so precious! I'm so glad you had fun. We stayed at that same hotel two years ago and were so impressed with the rooftop bar. I'd love to go again sometime! :)

Yay I'm glad you had fun :-) I didn't get to go because I had plans in advance, oh well. I've been a few times and loved it! Hope your last month is going well. Lets do dinner and catch up:)
