I am so happy let you all know that I made it through my 21st birthday and it was amazing! My actual birthday was on Tuesday, but on Monday night at midnight, I headed to Lowe's Foods to make my first alcohol purchase! I was so nervous and excited at the same time. Since it was midnight, there was no one there and I basically had the store to myself. Jake came along, as well as my friends Gwyn and Lindsey.
They had so much fun taking this photo shoot of me!
I went right back home after that and went straight to bed.
Tuesday, I had class from 12:30 until 8:00 that night. It was so hard staying focused and being excited, anxious, and nervous all day long. Once I did get home, I got ready and my friends came over. I thought it would be nice to have a small group meet up before, so we could all go to the bar together.

My freshman roommate, Erin! Love her!
The group that went to the bar with me!
I am so thankful for everyone that came by before we left! I had so much fun celebrating with all of you:)
About 10:30 we all headed to Klondike, where everyone else was going to be! There was hardly anyone there when we got there, but I made sure the bouncer checked my ID anyway.
Everyone working that night was so sweet to me, and super accommodating!
My friend, Anthony bought my first drink when I arrived and the fun continued, until I decided to go home later that night. It was so great to see everyone, finally as a 21-year-old!
I can't believe that it's the day before my 21st birthday! I've been waiting for this day to come for so long and I am beyond excited. All of my friends and my boyfriend have already celebrated their 21st, but I am so happy to finally be here:) My birthday isn't officially until tomorrow, but that didn't make this weekend any less busy!
On Friday morning, bright and early, I went and had my hair done. I got behind having it done because of recruitment, but that just made me even more excited. I got it trimmed and then had blonde highlights put in like always. Also, the past few months, I've been putting red in my hair. I love the red and blonde together, so I went for more red this time around.
Friday night we had a quad with Delta Zeta, Delta Chi, and Delta Tau Delta. The theme was "High School Stereotypes". Somehow, I was able to fit into my cheerleading uniform from senior year, so I wore that. We all had so much fun!

My Silver family!
On Saturday, we had a football game against Chattanooga. Alpha Phi tailgated with Delta Tau Delta, Jake's fraternity. The beautiful weather brought so many people out to the game. Sunshine combined with family weekend meant crowds of people in Boone!

Yesterday, my Frat. Ed. committee and I held our first official new member meeting. I think it went really well. I had to leave a little bit early to have a birthday dinner with my parents at Outback, but my group is so wonderful, I knew that would do amazing without me.
In the Miller family, birthdays are always a big deal, but this one must be a special one because I have never been showered with so many nice, beautiful things. I don't usually buy jewelry for myself, but I saw a couple things on the Kate Spade website that I thought were just too cute AND reasonably priced. Last night, my parents surprised me with a pair of beautiful earrings that I'd picked out. I am such a lucky girl.
These are my earrings! So classic and beautiful!
Kate Spade is even including this adorable flower clip in their orders! Not sure how I'm planning on wearing mine:)
Here are a few other pictures from my birthday dinner with the family! We had so much fun!
I have come across a couple finds recently that I think are just too cute! I am so excited to share them with you. I know these may seem a bit random, but finding something unique and new is so exciting for me. I am an avid shopper, so when I see something that makes me think "perfection," I just have to share it!
Lilly Pulitzer's Resort Chic Wedges in Metallic Leopard

I absolutely LOVE these and think they scream SASSY! Lilly also sells them in a classic silver and gold, but the cheetah print is to die for. I don't have any just yet, but they're definitely on my to-buy list. These run about $200/pair.
Where I'm from, Lilly Pulitzer doesn't have its own store, but when I'm feeling adventurous, I travel to the nearest Palm Avenue. This is where I first saw my first Britt Ryan dress and fell in love! They use super fun colors and run about the same price as Lilly.
I didn't have a chance to try one on because I was in a hurry, but here are a few of my personal favorites:

Dresses are my passion and I think these would be perfect for any occasion. I love the colors and the styles. The classic ruffles and bows sealed the deal for me!
What do you think of these styles?
Hair tinsel
The most recent hair phenomenon are feathers! I can hardly go out without seeing someone with an assortment of these in their hair. For me, this was a stretch and not really my style. Then, I heard about hair tinsel! This can be put in, similar to feathers, but it's a bit more modest. If you've never seen the hair tinsel, here's an example:

I love this picture featuring the tinsel in Beyonce's hair. She is such a beautiful lady and the tinsel makes her hair pop. I'm not sure how much they cost, but I'm definitely going to look into it!
What do you think about these three awesome finds?
I am so happy to finally get back and tell you all about Bid Day! It went off without a hitch! I don't know how everything went so smoothly, but I am so thankful. I got up at 5:50 Sunday morning for pref. round and didn't get started on Bid Day stuff until around 3:00 that afternoon. I was so lucky to have my wonderful committee, my parents, and multiple other volunteers to help me along the way.
This is my beautiful Frat. Ed. committee! It's our responsibility to teach the 48 amazing new girls everything about Alpha Phi!
The theme of our Bid Day this year was Alpha Phi Life is good! All of the sisters wore pink shirts and the new girls were given matching yellow shirts. I loved the idea of doing a theme that was cute and fun. We had our Bid Day celebration at Boone Golf Club where we have some of our functions throughout the year.
Everyone had a name tag, but I thought it would be really special for Frat. Ed. to have their own name tags that they could decorate to match their personality. I found these glitter-covered crowns and thought they were perfect!
Here's mine!
The two girls that we initiated last spring started calling me Mom, during their new member meetings. I thought it was adorable, so the name stuck.
Here are some pictures of the venue before everyone arrived.
All of our sisters met at the student union later that night to greet the new girls. We took pictures at the cafeteria as a group, then it was off to Boone Golf to start the festivities!
We had so much fun that night eating, talking, and revealing Silver Sisters!
I can't wait to get to know each one of our 48 new members! How great it is to be an Alpha Phi!!
It's been a while since my last post, but I have been beyond busy! Not only am I trying to keep up with school, my sorority, and my wonderful boyfriend, but I'm planning Bid Day for my sorority, Alpha Phi! I've wanted to be Pledge Mom ever since I was a new girl, so when I was elected this past year, I was so so excited.
Here I am on my bid day two years ago with two of my best friends Kaitlin & Stephanie!
Oh, how the time flies!
I have been planning this year's bid day for four months. With only two days left, we're getting down to the wire. The theme, and everything that goes along with it are still a surprise, but I'll be able to show you pictures very soon! Planning this event has been a task! My college had a record number of girls sign up for recruitment and I wouldn't have made it this far without my amazing committee!
My friend, Gwyn has been on my committee since last semester and I don't know where I would be without her.
I've also been continuing to plan for my 21st Birthday! It's September 27th. The dress that I ordered finally came and it was perfect! I can't wait to show pictures of all the upcoming festivities, but until then, it too will be a surprise.
There are two things I love about birthdays...presents and cake! I'm all about birthday cake and this is what I'm dying to have this year.

Wouldn't this be too cute in Lilly colors or paisley? Adorable! I'd also love to have a crown to wear that night. This one is perfect!

Keep me in your thoughts for Bid Day on Sunday! I'm going to need it. I can't wait to welcome all the new Alpha Phis! I know they're all going to be amazing:)
