Kate Spade Office Decor

Along with re-decorating my own apartment, my office at work is also in the middle of being renovated. I'm talking new paint, new carpet and maybe even some new furniture here and there. While I’m displaced from my normal work area, I’ve started thinking about ways to make my office space a little more “me,” when I get back. One quick fix for any bare room is putting something on the walls. Currently, there are two large landscape photos hanging in my office. Though they are beautiful, I prefer something a little more modern and fun. I want an office that reflects my personality as soon as you walk in the door. What better way to do that, than bringing in a little Kate Spade?!

Below are three prints from Subload Traverlers Print Shop on Etsy that I’d love to have! These cute sayings paired with gold frames would be the perfect art for my blank office walls!

They would all be the same size and compliment the three photos of family, friends and Paisley, that I plain on hanging. An end result similar to this photo would be fabulous!

Recent Purchase: New Coffee Table Books!

During my two-month absence from blogging, I made (way too) many fun purchases, but yesterday I ordered two new things that I must tell you about!

Remember in February, when I discussed my growing coffee table book obsession? Read that post here! Since then, I've slowly been collecting fun books and working to make my coffee table look absolutely perfect!

Five Things I Love on Mother's Day!

I've talked about my amazing Mama many times on this little blog, but today, in honor of Mother's Day, this post is devoted specifically to her!

Here are a few things that I love about my Mama:

1. She's my biggest fan

From elementary school spelling bees to running 19 miles in Disney World, she's been by my side every step of the way!

2. She is the most compassionate person I know

She gives constantly, and always puts others above herself.

3. She's my favorite shopping partner

We don't always have the same tastes, but 9 times out of 10, when I'm looking for the perfect item, Mama is the one to find it. She has an eye for detail that's hard to come by.

4. She loves her family, her friends, and the Lord.

There is nowhere I can go, that I feel more love than with my Mom. She's my point of reason, my counselor and my sounding board.

5. Each day, I realize that I'm slowly turning into her... 
(and I'm completely okay with it!)

As I get older, I hear my Mom's voice within my own. When dealing with a tough situation, I ask myself, "What would Mama do?" I feel so lucky to have been blessed with such an amazing mother. God was doing something right when he made her.

Happy Mother's Day to my Mama, and all the other Mothers out there! Thank you for all you do!

Hello Out There!

Can anybody hear me? My name is Melody, and I’m the prepster behind Sweet Like a Song. If you don’t remember me, I can’t say I blame you! It’s been almost two months since my last blog post. Needless to say, graduate school, work and wedding season have kept me much busier than I could have ever imagined. The good news is, I’ve finished one year of grad school, (four of the twelve classes in my program,) and have three weeks off! Cue the fireworks and champagne!

During this break, I hope to be able to update you on everything that I've missed out on blogging about, like running the Princess Half-Marathon, a recent trip to Charleston and fun new shopping purchases! You’ll also hear about some adventures that I have in the works, like traveling to the Isle of Palms with my family this summer, re-decorating my bedroom, and (probably my favorite of all,) my upcoming trip to the Lilly Pulitzer Warehouse Sale!!! That’s right, in a little less than a month, my fab Mama and I are packing our bags for King of Prussia, Pennsylvania to shop our little hearts out at the sale of all Lilly sales!

In the meantime, I have to tell you about something else that's been stealing my time lately…

Netflix.

Go ahead, roll your eyes…but you know just as well as I do that you too have been stuck on the couch watching episode after episode of "insert show here." I was a bit late to the Netflix train, but thanks to my friend, Samantha, I am completely obsessed! These are a few of my personal favorites:
