Back to Basics

I'm not sure why, but recently I haven't felt as "into" blogging. I don't know where this feeling spawned from, but it just hasn't had the appeal that it once did. Tonight, I was brainstorming what I wanted to blog about this week and I had an "AH-HA" moment. This was my problem exactly! I've spent so much time thinking about what to blog, how to appeal to other bloggers, etc, I think I kind of lost myself in it all. I'm sure those of you that blog daily are familiar with this feeling as well. You get a little sucked into all the hype and forget why you started blogging in the first place. For me, it was to find a hobby and share my life with others. Little did I know, my new hobby would become a passion.

One of my favorite quotes from my boyfriend:
"I don't know what you did with your time before blogging."

The funny thing is, neither do I:)
My blog goal for the time being is to get back to blogging about things I care about, things I don't care for, things I'm doing, reading, buying etc.

With that said, I'd like to update you all on a few things:
1. The dog situation: As you may know, I've been searching for Goldendoodle puppy. It's something I've wanted for so long, but right now I just can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I'm a huge believer in signs and I know that the perfect dog will come along at the perfect time, so for now I'm taking a break and letting fate take its course.

2. My "Getting Fit in 40 Days" goal for Lent: For Lent this year, instead of giving something up, I decided to try my best to get more fit in 40 days. It has actually been going really well! I started out going to gym almost every day and doing the elliptical, as well as weights and machines. I'll be honest, I've shied away from the gym a little bit, but I've started running and it's becoming somewhat enjoyable, a BIG step for me! I ran 4 miles outside the other day with two friends and I was SO proud!

Part of my running route
3. The Photo a Day Challenge: I began the Photo a Day challenge on January 1st this year and kept it up through all of February. I took the pictures and blogged about them... then I got a little behind. I'd have 5 different pictures to take in one day and it just wasn't something I cared to do. It's definitely a project that I would like to try again sometime, but I don't see the point in investing time into something that I'm not doing wholeheartedly.

4. Reaching Out: I had lunch with my friend/g-little/Alpha Phi sister, Kim the other day and had such a great time! Kim has been in my family now for months, but we'd never had a chance to get lunch just the two of us, so we decided on last Wednesday. I had so much fun and really enjoyed getting to know such a sweet, sweet person.

As a bit of advice for this week, I hope all of you take the time to get to know someone new, make someone else's day and reach out. You'll be so glad you did:)

  1. I've had the same issue with blogging. I was over-thinking what to blog about, and it all of a sudden became frustrating. I've tried to take the pressure off of myself, and it has definitely worked better. I also tried the Photo a Day challenge. I didn't take but 5 photos in March. Like blogging, I'm trying to take the pressure off myself with that also. I'm sure the right puppy will come to you at the right time! Goldendoodles are so cute! Have a great day girl!

  2. I completely agree! I've felt the same way - it's definitely hard when life seems to be pulling you in so many different directions. Good for you! I'm posting about that either today or tomorrow (another idea just popped into my head!) so be sure to check it out.

    Have a great week!
