Relaxing 101!

After this week, the only thing I've got on my mind is relaxing!

A combination of...
-Chapters and chapters of reading
-Working at my on-campus job
-Getting up at 6:15am, three days in a row
-Driving two hours home for an appointment and then going straight back to school
...along with everything else that I had this week has tired me out! TGIF!
As of 1:50 this afternoon, you can find me relaxing somewhere!
If any of you have had a week like this, I hope this guide helps you out!

Here are my 5 best ways to relax after a super long week at work/school:

Sleep: People don't realize how much sleep they actually need, especially us college students, who run around week after week, with few too many hours of actual sleeping. There are so many days when I'm yawning in class and I can feel myself nodding off or day dreaming. Do any of you ever have this happen? It's not the teacher's fault, I'm just exhausted!

Have a night in: I know this sounds crazy, but a night in will actually do a lot of good! My favorite things to do on a night like this are: put on my pajamas, catch up on my favorite TV shows, read the book I've been trying to finish or the lovely blogs I've gotten behind on. I went to bed last night at 9:20, from pure exhaustion! I slept a good 10.5 hours and I already feel so much better!

Go home: For me, there is no place that I relax better, than when I make a trip home. There's something about being with family, back in my old bed or just sitting on the couch, that makes me feel so much better. When I'm at home, I hardly take my pj's off because that's the one place it's acceptable to do nothing all day long!

Have a "Me Day": Though I love a good shopping day with my mom, where we're running around from store to store or just looking for that special item. We'll be having one of these days on Saturday! There's nothing like making a relaxing shopping trip by yourself. After a hard day at work or a class that drained my brain, the best fix for me, is making a trip to T.J Maxx and looking around for an hour! I might even grab a milkshake while I'm out and then go home a take a nap.
Total stress reliever!

Hangout with close friends: I'm am so lucky to have a group of girlfriends that will accept me with open arms, no matter what kind of day I've had! I love just wearing comfy clothes over to my friend Gwyn's, playing board games, eating whatever delicious sweets that Lindsey decides to make and watching movies!

What's your favorite way to relax?

  3. You are so right about the sleep thing - I was meant to be seeing friends for a good old girlie chat tonight and some wine, and was so shattered I was (guiltily) relieved when it got cancelled. Sometimes you just have to give in an stay home and relax. I get on the sofa under a throw and just LOVE IT.

  4. There's nothing better than a relaxing weekend! I agree with all of the things on your list. Last weekend, I slept until 1:00 on both Saturday and Sunday. I was that exhausted! Working 40 hours a week and keeping up with 3 classes tires a girl out! Being is a student is certainly exhausting. Have a great weekend!

  6. I'm a huge fan of "me" time! I love to shop around Home Goods, Marshall's, or TJ Maxx by myself! I also love to head to Barnes and Noble and curl up with a book for an hour...or three!
