A Living Room Transformation for the Books!

When I typed "Be in love with my apartment" as one of my goals for 2014, I had no idea what exactly that meant. I knew that my apartment had potential, but never in my wildest dreams did I expect a transformation like this one. With one trip to IKEA and a little TLC, my living room has become a Pinterest-worthy space fit for a queen! Believe me, this transformation is one for the books!

Here I am with my IKEA goodies, after our shopping trip in February.

The following Monday, my Dad and Brother made their way to Boone to put together all of my new furniture. While I was at work, they assembled absolutely everything. It's safe to say that I didn't even recognize my own apartment, when I came home that day!

BEFORE:
Keep in mind that when I first moved in, just over a year ago, I was in a hurry. I had just moved back to Boone for a new job, and though apartment decor was on my mind, I wasn't looking invest a lot of time/money in new furniture.

It was super plain and sadly, super "college."

AFTER:
Love at first sight!

Now that I've seen what a little re-decorating can do, I'm ready to re-do the entire apartment!

Five on Friday!

Happy Friday Fancies!

Each week, it seems like Friday comes a little slower, but once it arrives, I can't believe it's already here! Today, I'm linking up with four lovely ladies for Five on Friday, and sharing five fun things going on in my crazy life!
THE GOOD LIFE BLOG
[ONE]
It's almost spring! Even though we've had a few deliciously warm days, I'm ready for spring to arrive in full force! Spring in Boone is my absolute favorite time of year because everyone is out, the temperature is perfect and I can wear fun outfits like this one! Seriously, I've been craving wedges for months!
[TWO]
I love the convenience of taking photos on my iPhone5, but sometimes it's nice to have a better quality photo, which is why I've decided to learn to use my Mom's DSLR Nikon 3100. The 3100 claims to be one of the best beginner DSLR cameras, so I'm excited to get started and see what kind of pictures it can produce. The other day, I took the sweetest pictures of Paisley playing in the snow! These two were my favorite!

[THREE]
Lately, I've been on a bit of a dress shopping spree. Surprised?! The one shown below is the Lilly Pulitzer Sullivan Dress in the You're Flagged print, one of my all-time favorites! I didn't by it when it came out about two years ago, and I've kicked myself ever since. When I came across an affordable one on Ebay in my size, I knew I had to have it! This is one of the few pretties I've purchased getting ready for spring. I can't wait for you to see the rest!
[FOUR]
In case you haven't heard just yet, I re-decorated my living room, and what a difference it made! Thanks in large part to IKEA, Target and my Dad/Brother for setting it all up, my living room is now a place where I love to spend time! I'll be doing a whole post on the transformation very soon, but I had to show you all the gorgeous finished product!

[FIVE]
It's no secret that I love Sarah Jessica Parker, and if given the chance to have a Cosmopolitan with her, I would absolutely oblige! Wouldn't we all?! Yesterday, thanks to Carly at The College Prepster, I came across the fascinatingly quick interview below, where SJP answers 73 different questions, and at lightning speed! If you're a fan of hers, you must check it out! It turns out she loves Coke just as much as I do, soul mates!

The SJP Collection for Nordstrom

From the earliest Sex and the City days, we all remember Carrie Bradshaw and her innate love for Manolo Blahniks. I mean, can you blame her? Carrie's treasured strappy sandals are just as much a necessity today as they were years ago! It was no surprise when Sarah Jessica Parker herself announced she'd be teaming up with Manolo Blahnik CEO, George Malkemus III, for her brand new shoe line, The SJP Collection, to be sold exclusively at Nordstrom.
The line is made up of 25 different shoes, including wedges, booties, flats, and of course, the stiletto heel, that we all know and love, along with a few handbags and coats. Each shoe in the collection has a name, and when asked how they were chosen, SJP said "A lot of the names come from women I’ve admired. Some are women I’ve never met, some are friends. Names I never got to name my children."

Since the line's launch in late February, The SJP Collection has been popping up in Nordstrom stores across the country. Sarah Jessica has even popped up in a few stores herself, meeting fans and signing her infamous shoes. You can have a pair of your own, as long as you don't mind spending between $195-$500 for a set of these beauties. For truly devoted fans, the hefty price tag won't stand in the way of walking in the shoes of Sarah Jessica Parker.

Though you can view the full line here, below are a few of my favorites from The SJP Collection:

SJP "Maud" Sandal = $375.00

SJP "Bobbie" Sandal in Mint = $365.00

SJP "Fawn" Pump = $350.00
 via

SJP "Bobbie" Sandal in Coral = $365.00

Will you be indulging in the SJP Collection? Which shoe is your favorite?
