My 2013 Christmas List!

Merry Christmas Eve Eve, Everyone!

What better time to post my Christmas list for this year?! Of course, this list simply serves as a guide, but receiving any of these items would just make my day! You can definitely tell I’m getting older by the types of items I’ve asked for this year! Hello, frying pans and furniture!

The IKEA EKTORP Sofa in white

I had planned on buying this couch for myself in August, but invested in a new MacBook Pro for grad school instead. I'd love to pair it with pink and gold accent pillows!

The IKEA Premiar Flatiron Building Picture
I am absolutely in love with this mural! It features the Flatiron building near Madison Square Park in Manhattan, just a few blocks from where I stayed at the Appalachian Loft! At 6.5x4.5 feet, this would be an amazing statement piece in my living room!

Target 7x10 Maples Fretwork Area Rug in charcoal gray
This would go perfectly with the couch and mural that I’ve already picked out. Plus with such a great price, I couldn’t resist!

White Pinch Pleat Bedding
I was on a roll with the other home products, so I figured why not? If I get this new bedding, I plan on taking the pink lattice duvet that I’m using in my apartment to my bed at home. This would also compliment the couch, rug and mural that I've asked for on my list! I found a duvet in a size full on Ebay, but similar styles are sold at Target and Overstock.com.

Teen Vogue Polka Dot White Party Skirt
This is extreme wishful thinking on my part, but a girl can't help but dream! I’ve loved this polka dot Party Skirt ever since its release in early December! It's sold out now online, but you just never know!

For a more affordable skirt option, look no further than this Space46Boutique Wendy Tulle Skirt
I am obsessed with this skirt, and would love to have it in black, white, or BOTH!

Though presents and wish lists are fun, Christmas is truly about giving, and spending time with family and friends, which I plan to do tons of during these next couple days! This morning, I'm off to the mall to finish some last minute Christmas shopping!

What are you asking for this year?!

Life as of Lately!

The semester is finally over, and I have two graduate classes under my belt. With only 12 classes in my program, that means I’m 1/6 done with graduate school. Though it may be a stretch, I'm that much closer to finishing my master’s degree, and being done with school forever! Commencement has also come and gone (as of yesterday at 6PM,) so things are finally slowing down, just in time for Christmas!

Let me fill you in on some super fun things that have happened these past few months!

In September, I went to Charleston to celebrate my 23rd birthday with four girlfriends, and it was fabulous! Read part one and part two of my trip here!
In October, I celebrated my second Homecoming at Appalachian with some great friends, and got my GGG-Littes! Yes, that makes me really old!

For Halloween this year, I used the amazing red dress that I found at JCPenney to be a sassy devil for my friend Marcia's Halloween Party! My eye makeup looked bold and fierce, thanks to my friend Frances at work!
For our office Halloween festivities, a group of us dressed up as the “Spice” Girls! I was a yellow mustard seed! We even choreographed a dance to "Spice up Your Life," and did it in front of the entire office! We won the contest for best group costume too!

I was even able to attend a few football games this season. My favorite was the Black Saturday game against Georgia Southern with my Dad! He loves football, and thanks to a little help from a grad school friend, we were able to get really good seats and passes into the field house for the day! We tailgated, watched the game and had so much fun!
In November, I attended Pig Dinner with Andrew and got to wear the cutest little black dress! I bought it a while back, but was saving it for the perfect occasion. The fraternity alumni function was it!
A few weeks later, I jetted off to New York City for four days with my friends Danielle and Alex. Talk about the trip of a lifetime! We packed so many fun things into the short time that we were there, and I am already planning my next trip back!

During the Thanksgiving holiday, I got together with family, ate way too much and shopped my little heart out. I even scored some fab Black (Thursday) Friday deals!
It was also during Thanksgiving break that my family celebrated both my Mom and Dad’s birthdays with good food, presents, Dewey’s cake squares and Gigi’s Cupcakes!

This month, though busy with final exams and such, I made time to decorate the apartment for the holidays. A silver glitter monogram was the perfect touch to my white tree with pink and purple ornaments!
There you go! Consider yourself completely updated on my life…or at least for the most part!

There are so many things coming up in the next few weeks, and I can’t wait to tell you about all of them!

Until then, I'll be shopping...

and drinking drinks like these from time to time!

New York City Vacay: Day Three!

Today on the blog, I'm rounding up my New York-themed posts with a summary of day three of our trip! As you can tell by the first two days, we didn't have much free time, and our last full day in NYC was no different!

We started our morning at Rockefeller Center, checking out The Today Show studios, then headed to the Evergreen Diner on West 47th Street for breakfast. This place was delicious, and was definitely somewhere I'd visit again! Alex and I enjoyed omelets, while Danielle ate one of the best waffles she'd ever had!
Right after breakfast, we rode the subway to The Plaza Hotel on 5th Avenue. This famous hotel was the meeting location for our Sex and the City Tour that day!
We booked our tour through On Location Tours, and it was fabulous! At $49.00 per person, it was worth every penny, and I would even consider doing it again. Our tour guide, Lou, was amazing at her job, and you could tell she enjoyed every minute of it!
After boarding the tour bus, we made our way around Manhattan, from 5th Avenue to Greenwich Village and everywhere in between. Though most of the tour was spent riding on a bus, we did make a few stops along the way. The first was at the Pleasure Chest in the West Village, where Charlotte of SATC bought her first "rabbit." Anyone recall that episode?
Our next stop was at the famous Buddakan restaurant in the Meatpacking District, where Carrie and Big's rehearsal dinner and New Year's Eve scenes from the first SATC movie were filmed.
Next, we made our way to Onieal's Grand Street Bar in Little Italy. This doubled as Aiden and Steve's bar "Scout," named after Aiden's dog from the SATC series. Cosmopolitan's were their specialty, and I couldn't leave without one!
After a tour of the West Village (which I'm now in love with) and another cupcake from Magnolia Bakery, where Carrie tells Miranda she has a crush on Aiden, we ended our tour in Times Square.

I have to admit, I was super disappointed when the tour didn't stop at Carrie's apartment in the West Village. After a bit of Googling and a quick subway ride, we were able to find her exact apartment on Perry Street!

This was my favorite thing we did in New York City!
I didn't watch Sex and the City until I turned 22 (thanks, Samantha!) and I immediately fell in love! Watching the entire series from beginning to end twice taught me so much about life, love and friendships. It was such an amazing and surreal moment standing in front of Carrie's apartment, where so many of the SATC scenes were filmed!
After a quick trip to Chinatown and a lot of walking later, we were back at the Loft getting ready for a night on Broadway! Though I loved the LBD that I wore, my main focus that night was staying warm. It was frigid outside, and even snowed once we made it to Times Square! I had on a coat, scarf, hose, gloves and sweater on top of my dress, and I was still cold!
We knew that it wouldn't be a trip to NYC without seeing something on Broadway, and Wicked was right up our alley! Here I am outside of the Gershwin Theatre on West 51st Street.
Alex and me right before taking our seats!
This was my very first Broadway show, and it definitely won't be my last! I'd love to be able to see a show every time I go to New York City!
The show lasted from 8:00 until around 11:00PM, and was absolutely fabulous! Definitely go see it if you have a chance!
We still hadn't had dinner by then, so we made a quick stop at a SBARRO in Times Square. Though I would've rather had something a little more New York, it was late and freezing cold (probably in the teens with the wind chill,) so I wasn't trying to search for another restaurant.
We got back to the Loft that night, packed our things and got ready to leave early the next morning. I'm still in disbelief as to how fast those three days went by! At the airport the next day, I was already planning my next trip to the city.

A few necessities before my fight home!
Being in New York City is like living in a place where you have the best of music, art and entertainment right at your fingertips…and don't forget about the shopping! It's completely different from any place I've ever been before, and it's absolutely fascinating. Though I'm nowhere near ready to make a move, who knows what the future may hold?!

If you missed the beginning of my trip, you can read about day one and day two here!
