Five on Friday!

Happy Friday, Y'all & Hooray for the weekend!

Today, I'm linking up with April of A. Liz Adventures for another fun 5 on Friday post!

Have five things you'd love to share? Link up and let us know!

 via

1. Lilly Pulitzer Pop Print:

I've talked about it many times, but I am plum crazy about the Lilly "Pop" print! I love all Lilly patterns, but I can already tell this print in particular is going to be an all-time favorite. Last week, I came across the Shoreline Tote in Pop, and scooped it right up, and for a steal! Talk about the best
day ever!

2. New Lip Color:

If you've never used Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter, you're missing out! Revlon Lip Butter is the perfect mix of lipstick color with lip gloss coverage. Read my full review here!

It comes in a ton of fun colors, and can be picked up just about anywhere! This week, I bought the new "Sorbet" shade, and I'm just crazy about it!

3. It's almost the Fourth!

Here we are just one week from the Fourth of July, and I can't wait! I've picked out the cutest red, white and blue outfits, had alterations done (you'll be hearing about those soon,) and even had a little pre-Fourth of July photo shoot! I'm head over heels for these photos, and I can't wait for you to see them!!!

4. Retail Therapy!

Last night, right after work, I went shopping at the Tanger Outlets and Old Navy with my friend Danielle! We had so much fun trying on all kinds of crazy clothes that we'd never thought we'd buy!...Or at least I did! Ann Taylor Loft had a BOGO free sale on their shorts, so I couldn't help indulging in that! I also got the black top I'm wearing above for $7.00!

I have wanted a fedora for so long! After a lot of trying on, and some convincing on Danielle's part, I went home with this cute $8.00 one from Old Navy! What do you think? Can I pull it off?

5. Dinner & a Movie!
Tonight, some of my co-workers and I are having dinner at Outback and then going to see the new movie The Heat. To be honest, I'm not sure what it's about, but I'm so excited to spend some time with my favorite work friends away from the office!

What are your 5 on Friday this week?!

Instagram Accounts that Inspire!

It's no secret that I love Instagram, like head over heels love it.

It took me a little while to catch on (I had a Droid when Instagram first became popular,) but have since gotten an iPhone 5, and fallen in love with the app that lets even the most amateur photographer become a professional!
One of the main reasons for my obsession, is that I'm able to see pictures from so many different walks of life. It reminds me that though we may have never met, or live hundreds of thousands of miles apart, we are all connected. We are all passionate about different things, and you can see those things by the photos that a person takes.

Below are some of my favorite Instagrammers (if that's even a word,) that inspire me to take more photos, go shopping, try new styles, colors, foods, etc. on a daily basis. Maybe you'll find someone that you fall in love with as well!

Blair Eadie: blaireadiebee

Ashley Brooke: AshleyBrookeDesigns

Rachel: APreppyStateofMind

Chelsea: SugarPaperLA

Caitlin: Cmoving

Lara Casey: Laraacasey

Southern Weddings Magazine: ILoveSWMag

...and SO many more!

What Instagram accounts inspire you?

Happiness Is...

Last night, while scrolling through my Twitter feed, I came across a tweet from my blog friend, Mosby, asking for some inspiration.
I can admit that I've found myself feeling the same way that she did on more than one occasion. Sometimes it just seems like I don't have anything interesting enough to share with my readers, but after some careful thought, the perfect topic eventually rises to the surface. Her tweet immediately got me thinking about things that I'd love to know about other bloggers, and for some reason this came to mind...

What makes you happy, what makes your day and what fuels you to be successful?

After tweeting back and mentioning my idea, I thought what better post to share with my own readers?! You can learn so much about a person by the things that they hold closest to their heart, so here's a little about what I hold closest to mine.

For me, Happiness is...
My family
Having time to grab breakfast before work
The perfect Instagram picture
When an item rings up on sale and you were expecting regular price
Putting together the perfect outfit that you didn't realize you had
A Sex and the City episode that perfectly fits how you're feeling at that moment
Lilly Pulitzer (the clothing, the look, the lifestyle)
A great hair day
Running farther than I ever thought I could
My Goldendoodle, Paisley Ann
Emily Giffin books
Cupcakes
My church family
Making someone's day
Making a new friend
Birthdays
Writing/receiving snail mail
Surprises, flowers & balloons
Football season at Appalachian
Sincerity
My hometown
Race rush
Ke$ha
Loving my job
My Princess Family
Blogging

These are just a few things that absolutely make my day! In your own life, what makes you happy, and keeps you striving for a better version of yourself? I'd love to hear!

Outer Banks Vacation Recap - Part Two!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Today, I'm finishing up my OBX vacation recap! That's right, I took so many pictures, this trip deserved a two-part post!

Each day started with a full breakfast, so I definitely couldn't leave that out! My Dad is an amazing cook, and breakfast foods are his specialty!
After everyone was full, we spent our mornings hanging around the house or at the pool before going on an outing for the day.

You can see here that some of our group preferred nap time!
I spent all the time that I could in the sun, attempting to come back with at least a base tan!
Around lunch time, we'd come in, eat, shower, and get ready for whatever fun outing we'd decided on for that day.

One afternoon, we visited the Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills, just ten minutes from where we were staying.
It was a beautiful day, and we had fun just walking around and being tourists.
Another afternoon, we traveled to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse!
The four of us actually climbed all 248 of the spiral stairs, which is equal to a 12-story building!
The view from the top!
This was such a fun trip for our family, and I would highly recommend it!
We enjoyed lunch at a pizza/diner-type place called Angelos just outside the lighthouse area.
On Wednesday evening, the forecast showed perfect weather, so we grabbed tickets for "The Lost Colony" outdoor drama in Manteo. After an amazing dinner at the beach house, we got dressed up and went to the show!
Before the week was over, Paisley made sure to try out all the cool furniture in the house, and have adequate doggie time on the beach!
On our last night, we had a delicious dinner at Outback...it was time for a break from our seafood-filled week. We also made sure to grab some ice cream at "Scoops" near Kitty Hawk Kites!

Before dinner on our last night!
On Saturday morning, after seven amazing days, we packed up our things bright and early to head back home. Though I was sad to leave, I am so thankful for such a wonderful vacation. It blew my goal for 2013 way out of the water!
I will definitely be going back to the Outer Banks again soon, and this Doodle Bug says she's in too!
Just in case you didn't catch Part One of my Outer Banks Vacation Recap, you can read that here!

Outer Banks Vacation Recap - Part One!

A few weeks ago, my family and I took our annual Miller Family Vacation to Nags Head at the Outer Banks. It was a fabulous trip filled with great food, relaxation, shopping and family time!
Needless to say, I'm already ready to back! Showing you all the fun pictures I took is the only way to accurately portray this perfect week, so I I hope you enjoy!

(I'm sorry for the photo overload! Too many cute things!)

Paisley relaxing while I packed the night before we left!

So excited to finally be on our way!

After 5 hours of riding, we arrived at our beautiful house "Yada Yada Yada" on Saturday afternoon!

We loved that this house had everything you could possible need: a pool, hot tub and a fenced in yard for Paisley and Arnie (my Mom's friend's beagle.) It was the perfect set up, and only one block from the beach!

Not long after arriving, Paisley decided to fall jump into the deep end of the pool. I immediately jumped in after her...fully-clothed, with my shoes on. It was hilarious, to say the least! My Mom even managed to snap this picture.
The first day of vacation was absolutely beautiful! We had sunny skies with highs in 70's! It was perfect beach weather!
 Daddy in our hot tub!
Paisley and I enjoying the pool.

This was Paisley's first time going to the beach, and she absolutely loved it, especially chasing crabs at night!
A walk on the beach every morning was the perfect start to the day!

I couldn't resist homemade banana pudding on the night of our first dinner out!
Needless to say, we were all stuffed once we got home! Paisley and I laying on the floor watching the Bachelorette.
A few days were a little more cloudy, so we used those to shop! On Tuesday, we headed a few miles down the road to the Tanger Outlets. I didn't see anything I needed at the outlets, but I did find the cutest things at some local shops later in the week!

This cap was too cute to pass up!
I also snagged these precious seahorse earrings at a local boutique!

Mama and I couldn't help driving up to Duck, NC one day later in the week to visit the "Life's a Beach" Lilly Pulitzer store!
On Tuesday evening, we celebrated my parent's 30th wedding anniversary by having a delicious dinner at a local restaurant called Basnight's!

I decided to wear one of my favorite Lilly dresses in the You Gotta Regatta print for this special occasion!

The food was fabulous!

This is just a portion of our amazing vacay! Make sure to check back on the blog tomorrow for part two of my OBX recap, to see a few other fun stops we made! With seven full days in such a beautiful place the possibilities were endless!
