It's Ok Thursday!

There has been so much going on these past few weeks! With that said, I thought today was the perfect time to link up with Neely & Amber and share a few things going on in my busy little life that I'm A-OK with!

Link up & let us know what you're ok with this Thursday!

It's ok... that graduation is 16 days away and I've never been more excited or scared in my life!
It's ok... that I can't wait to go back blonde again! I've been brunette now for 5 months and it's time for a change! #shortblondehairdontcare:)
It's ok... that I thought yesterday was Friday all day long! I don't know days of the week anymore, just the work I have to get done.
It's ok... that I have something going on every day of every weekend until graduation day! I guess it's better to be busy than sitting around!

It's ok... that I totally crave P.F. Chang's all the time!

It's ok... that I know this Sunday is going to be an overly emotional day for me. It's my last chapter meeting in Alpha Phi and I'm going to be a total mess.
I know there will be tears, but they'll be good tears for the forever memories and sweet friends that I've made.

Charleston Formal 2012!

I'm so happy to finally have time to blog about my weekend in Charleston for Jake's Formal! It was so much fun and I can't wait to go back sometime soon! Every year, the fraternity takes care of making all the arrangements for the weekend. They usually rent two large beach houses that are fairly close together! Here's where we stayed in the Isle of Palms!

Isn't it beautiful?!
I thought the blue was so cute and loved the fact that it was oceanfront and still had a private pool! I love being able to swim in the pool, but then have the beach only a short walk away.

Jake and I loaded up the car along with another couple and headed down to Charleston on Thursday afternoon around 3:00pm, we finally made it around 9:30pm! Needless to say, I was ready to be out of the car for good. That night we hung around the house and met everyone's dates.

The second day of Formal (Friday), is usually spent laying by the pool and enjoying the beach. We did just that! It was beautiful weather and I think I may have caught some rays!
Later that night, a group of twelve of us traveled into downtown Charleston for dinner and ate at the Southend Brewery & Smokehouse.
The cheeseburger that I got as my meal was pretty good, but my she-crap soup appetizer stole the show! Something I would definitely get again!
On Saturday morning, Jake and I decided to go into Charleston for a little shopping! We couldn't pass up Lilly, Victoria's Secret and all of the other cute stores that King Street had to offer. I tried to keep myself from splurging and only ended up going home with two dresses from Forever21.
This little girl was too cute!
For lunch, we stopped in at Old Towne Grill and Seafood, also on King Street. I had the Shrimp Poboy and it was delicious! We also decided to try some of their mozzarella sticks and they didn't disappoint.
On Saturday night, the fraternity usually schedules a formal dinner and dancing for all of the guests, but because of lack of interest, they decided to cancel it. Instead, we all still got dressed up and had nice dinners out. I decided against the Lilly dress that I had originally bought for the occasion, so it will be making its first appearance at graduation, under my cap & gown. One of the dresses that I'd purchased at Forever21 earlier that day ended up working great.
We decided to try a seafood place called Hyman's that's supposed to be well-known in Charleston. Though it was a bit pricey, the crab legs that I got were definitely worth it!
Yummy!
Overall, it was a great trip and such a fun thing to attend as my time in college comes to an end! There are only 17 days left until graduation! I can't believe it!

Greek Week Recap!

Last weekend, Appalachian State held there annual Greek Week, a week packed full of competitive events, including community service, a Lipsync competition, and an entire afternoon of my favorite, Greek games!

On Friday, I went with a group of girls to one of the newest parts of Greek Week, the Academic bowl! Each organization picked a group of representatives to answer Jeopardy-style questions. This was something completely new, so everyone was a little nervous about what to expect! There was an amazing turnout and everyone had a great time!
Saturday of Greek Week is known as Service Day! All of the different organizations come together in the morning, get divided up into smaller groups & go to different sites all around town. My group was sent to the local humane society. We spent our afternoon walking a sweet dog named, Shadow!
On Saturday night, we celebrated my little, Katy's 21st birthday. Her actual birthday was on the Saturday before Easter, but since we were on Easter break, this seemed like the perfect time! We had dinner at this nice restaurant/bar in Boone called Cafe Portofino! It was so good!
The birthday girl!
Princess fam!
On Sunday, we had Greek games on Duck Pond Field! The weather could not have been more perfect with a high of 73 that day! It was beautiful!
Katy & I participated in the water balloon toss and won second place!
Of all the Greek week events, Lipsync is the most competitive, and it took place on Monday night. This was my third year competing and I was just as nervous as the first time! Our theme was "Middle School" and even though we didn't win, we still did amazing on stage! I am so proud to be an Alpha Phi!

Sharyn, Kim & Katy were so sweet and made me signs! I can't wait to hang them up in my room when I move home!
My last Greek Week was absolutely amazing!

Spring is in the Air!

I've been so happy these past couple weeks as the weather has slowly started to warm up. What does this mean? Spring is here and graduation is on the horizon! Woohoo!
29 Days to be exact! It's hard to believe!
Last weekend, I enjoyed a short vacation from school for Easter and took the time to celebrate my & Jake's One Year Anniversary. I didn't think coming back to classes on a Wednesday, midway through the week would be that difficult. Boy, was I wrong! This week has been so incredibly stressful with:
-A 14 page marketing paper
-A portfolio due in my capstone class
-Greek Week
-Lip Sync practice
These few things have consumed my life the last couple days and will continue to fill my planner until next week sometime.

On a better note, once I make it through Thursday of next week, I'm headed to the beach! Jake's fraternity formal is in Charleston, SC this year from Thursday-Sunday. Last year was my first year going to a fraternity formal and I had the most amazing time in Topsail Island! After two crazy weeks, nothing sounds better than the ocean, amazing shopping, and good food! I can hardly contain myself!
As part of my & Jake's anniversary gift to each other, we're planning a special outing in Charleston. Maybe even some type of boat cruise!?
Sign me up!

Anniversary Celebration!

Yesterday, Jake & I had a great day celebrating our one year anniversary! It's hard to believe I've been able to spend the past year with my best friend, and one of the most wonderful people I've ever met. I am so lucky.
Jake drove a few hours to my house and arrived about 12:30. We were so excited, we decided to exchange our anniversary gifts first thing and Jake suggested I open mine first. No objections from me! He then handed me a card that had a web address on it. I was a little confused at first, because that's all that was written on the card. I grabbed my computer and typed in the address. It took me to a blog that Jake had put together as my real "card." The blog was complete with a background, header, and a single post titled "Happy Anniversary." He hit the nail on the head with this one! I was so impressed. Inside the post were a few things that rhymed, inside jokes and pictures of different parts of our relationship. Each portion signaled a different part of the gift that he had for me:

-Pink Tulips (Like the first flowers Jake ever sent me)
-A Panera gift card (Because I need to eat breakfast more)
-A new Hello Kitty watch (So I can always be on time)
-A year subscription to Brides Magazine (So I'm full of ideas when I work at the wedding company this summer)
-A new blog design of my choosing (To look good when sharing my ideas)
-A romantic outing of my choice in Charleston, SC, when we go for Jake's Formal in 11 days (To make new memories together)

I don't say these things to brag in anyway, I was simply amazed at how well Jake knows me. Babe, you really are the best. It's also crazy to me how alike we think because as Jake's gift, I also planned on footing the bill for an outing in Charleston. I guess we both value great food and great memories.
All I've got to say is, double the fun!
We decided to have lunch at this little place called Dairi-O, about 15 minutes from my house. They have amazing hot dogs, hamburgers, fries & ice cream. If you know Jake and me, you know that's right up our ally! We love good-tasting, not-so-healthy food and Dairi-O hit the spot! I had a hot dog and cheese fries, yummy! Jake got a Cheeseburger Pita.
At that point, we were closer to the nearest movie theatre than we were to my house, so we decided to go see the movie I've been waiting to see for so long!
This was my first time going to see a movie after reading the book and it was a very different experience. I really enjoyed the movie though and I can't wait for the next one to come out!
Jake & I drove back home to rest for a while and then went out to eat at Texas Roadhouse with my family. Being a Monday night, we didn't have to wait long at all and were out by 8pm.

I am so thankful for such a wonderful day & anniversary!

Tell Me Your Favorites for My New Pooch!

Even though the date I'll be getting my new addition is completely unknown, that hasn't stopped me from shopping for the cutest collars, leashes and other doggie accessories that I can find. To be honest, looking for my Doodles first collar is almost as much fun as looking at dresses for me!

With that said, I would like to introduce you to Pecan Pie Puppies, a shop featuring doggie collars that I found on Etsy! They are some of the most beautiful collars I've ever seen and I'm sure that I want my Goldendoodle to have one!
Now here's where you come in! There are a couple collars that I absolutely adore, but I can't choose just one!
Please comment on this post letting me know which one of the beautiful collars is your favorite, number 1, 2, or 3?

Choice 1: Happy Blooms Flower
Choice 2: Seersucker Pink Carnation
